The local regulations required that the front facade be done in the Georgian style. This was done with beautiful stone detailing around the door and windows. To avoid ruining the composition of the facade, the garage door was neatly tucked around the side. In the back the requirements for a Georgian style were not in effect and therefore a contemporary volume protrudes out for the covered deck which the kitchen and dinning room open onto. Inside an opening in the second floor allows light from a skylight to descend all the way down to the kitchen. Many custom details were painstakingly conceived and carried out by craftsmen: for example, the guardrail of the stair case is made of white painted steel round bars which extend from the floor to the ceiling, creating a sculptural element in the living space. In the kitchen custom cabinetry in white oak offsets the white quartzite countertops.
